The Arch - a gateway or archway to a new beginning and the start of something new! Members of The Arch believe that they are indeed something new. The group is definitely not the typical bar band. Their passion and hard work has resulted in a constantly growing fan base. Lead singer and keyboardist, Pat Walsh is the former, lead vocalist for the band ?Fear of Flying? and performed with Mickey T. Guild and The Storm as a drummer, but knew that this was not his true calling. Working on original music and continuing to pursue his unique style of singing, he worked with a duo act, performing in many clubs throughout the Capital District for a long time.
Lead Guitarist Bob Dielman toured with the Judy Messenger Show, an R&B Band in 1985 taking him to Turkey, Greece, Italy and Spain for the Department of Defense. The group played military bases and some very remote officers clubs and embassies. After returning he began performed with ?Overture? from 1986-1988, along with ?China Moon.?
As far back as 1967 LJ Harness, the classy and flashy drummer for The Arch has been performing and sharing the stage with the likes of BJ Thomas, the Grassroots, Rare Earth, Steppenwolf, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent and Tom Petty. His biggest audience of 64,000 was as his group opened for Aerosmith at the Tangerine Bowl. The band he was most proud of and performed with was Florida's Premier Rock band from the mid 70's to the late 80's - ?Hootchie?.
After taking a 17 year hiatus from the drums, he realized that his passion for entertaining and drumming never really left him. He was invited on stage in Sarasota at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center by Patti Labelle. She personally asked him to accompany her on the drums.
Together these three talented and well-rounded seasoned musicians are THE ARCH BAND.
