"Sax-a-fied" is Eddie Garrett's new CD of his own brand of original music. Released August 10th 2009. This particular CD follows up Garrett's most notable work, "Back To Basics" released 2008. There are eight tracks of music with a vocal intro by Mississippi blues man, Johnny Rawls. This time Garrett has incorporated saxophones and flutes to compliment his music. Garrett is no stranger to writing and recording music. This new work happens to be his eighth CD. Born the son of a Baptist Pastor in Hamilton, Ohio in 1954, he was introduced to music in his father's church. He started playing drums and guitar at age 8. By the time he reached 13, Garrett says he had mastered the basics of lead guitar. Playing songs by "The Ventures," "Lonnie Mack," "Eric Clapton," "The Beatles," and "The Rolling Stones," not to mention blues men like "B.B. King," "Robert Johnson," and "Muddy Waters." At age 14 he played his first "paid" gig playing guitar and singing. Garrett has worked & performed with several well-known artists over the years to his credit. Ray Martin of "Lighthouse," Bill Bartlett guitarist of the 60's pop group, "The Lemon Pipers," Denny (Dumpy) Rice writer/pianist both for Lonnie Mack and for the late great "Conway Twitty," along with Mississippi's own, Johnny Rawls to mention a few. Garrett lives in Sarasota, Fl. where he has called home for nearly twenty years. Once one experiences Eddie Garrett from his CDs, or live with his All-Star Band, they will no doubt become a fan. Garrett has often stated that music is alot like women, they not only "need to be heard, but more importantly, be felt."
